Educational Course's
Our
educational curriculum is a key component of our treatment
planning. We believe that it assists the client in
developing into a functional, self-reliant individual, and
addresses some of the basic needs in building a strong educational
foundation. The current courses include Health & Wellness,
Basic and Advanced Math, Spanish, Communications and Introduction
to Computers. We also offer a complete
G.E.D. course with Pre-tests and the ability for clients to
obtain their G.E.D.
Once the clients have completed our curriculum, we encourage them
in continuing with their educational goals by providing direction
and assistance in attending college courses available in the area.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
SPANISH
By the end of the course, the student will have learned the
Spanish alphabet, numbers and basic grammar. The student will have
a basic understanding in how to read and write in Spanish.
The student will have started to learn how to speak Spanish as
well.
HEALTH & FITNESS
By the
end of the course, each student will have developed the skills
necessary to live as a healthy and fit individual. The
student will have designed his own individual fitness program. He
will have established proper hygiene, which promotes health and
wellness. The student will have a basic understanding of
diet and nutrition to implement daily toward healthy living and
achieving his personal goals.
COMMUNICATIONS
By the end of the course, each student will have learned and
perfected proper essay format. The student will learn to
fill an application correctly and how to create an effective
resume' with a cover letter. The student will learn to
confidently and effectively give an oral presentation, as well as
how to properly present themselves during an interview.
MATH BASIC
By the end of the course, each student will have learned how to
complete the order of operations in addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division. The student will have learned
how to add, subtract, multiply and divide decimals and fractions,
and all related operations to their use. The student will
have an understanding of how to convert fractions and decimals and
how to find percentages.
ENGLISH
By the end of the course, each student will have learned basic
writing skills with proper sentence and paragraph structure.
The student will learn new vocabulary and proper punctuation,
grammar and spelling. The student will also learn how to
write essays.
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS
By the end of the course, each student will have learned what a
computer's functions are. The student will learn how to type
and use various programs on the computer, such as Microsoft Word
and Excel. The student will have a basic understanding of
how a computer works. The student will be able to navigate
around a computer.
